I want to attach an Ethernet shield with an Wiznet w5100 that uses the Arduino Mega SPI pin configuration
MISO = Digital_Pin 50
MOSI = Digital_Pin 51
SCK = Digital_Pin 52
SS = Digital_Pin 53.
The ShieldBuddy Ethernet library uses as default the pins 10, 11, 12, 13 for the SPI communication.
What need to be changed in the ShieldBuddy Ethernet library for using the on board Digital pins 50, 51, 52 ,53 for SPI communication?
Help is welcome.
Thanks and best regards Michael

Hi, which Ethernet shield have you got? We are in the process of activating the additional SPI ports.

It is tricky to remap the SPI using the Arduino environment at the moment. However we will include the extra SPI channels in the Shieldbuddy immediately, using the Arduino Due extended SPI API. We will try and get one of the industrial shields for testing.
At some point we will enable the Ethernet module in the TC275....

Would you be interested in a "Safe Shieldbuddy " for IEC61508?

Ok, ordered one!
I estimate that the additional SPI pins will be supported in 7-10 days. Is there anything else that you need to support?

Thank you for your great support. The SPI communiction to wiznet ethernet chip is only problem so far. If I have more questions I come back and will ask for advise.

Hopefully yes but our Industrial Shield has not arrived yet so we cannot test the new driver.
Btw. What is your project doing? Sounds interesting!

We have now got an Industrial Shield but unfortunately our first attempt at getting the Ethernet working failed. It is not clear exactly which pin is the SS. Looking at the MEGA schematic, it appears to be pin10 like on an Arduino Uno. Indeed there is something on the Industrial Shields website that implies this is the case. It is not pin53, which is why our driver fails. However I think we should be able to resolve this but I am not sure if it can be done by Monday :-(
