Hi!
I'm interested in ShieldBuddy.
Wondering how flash content can be protected from reading / copying?
I know these uc:s are used in Bosch automotive ECU:s with something they call "tuning protection" but sooner or later people overcome this "tuning protection" anyway.. ;-)
Could someone explain how the security works on this uc?
Are there lock bits that you could set to turn of reading / programming?
Tried to find out in the data sheet but didn't seem to find it.
Is the boot loader a weak spot in this? If so, could you program the uc without bootloader like High Voltage programming or so?
Thank you!
/Chris

It is possible to protect the PFLASH contents from unauthorised read operations, erasure etc.. I will check to see what public information there is on this topic.
